Hello Again!

This is the companion to my other blog East Yorkshire Pudding (www.eyorkspud.blogspot.com.) Here I will post random photographs that I have taken myself, family photographs I have had given or borrowed, and have bought or found. Postcards will probably pop up now and again. Please feel free to comment, 'follow', or even send me something I may like to post.

I can't promise to post everyday, but I will try to do so regularly.

Oh, Dr Beeching!

This is the kind of photo that local historians get excited about. What looks like a brick wall with slabs on the top, is actually one of the few remaining remnants of the Hull to Hornsea railway line. Opened in 1864, it ran from Paragon Station in Hull city centre, through what was then open countryside, through to Hornsea. In 1964 it closed to passengers and freight in 1965. You can still go to Hornsea more or less along the same route, but you would have to walk or cycle there. This was taken in March 2011.
